COVID-19 Important Information

Masks must still be worn inside the practice.
Please do not enter the practice for your appointment unless you have been telephoned and asked to do so by the receptionist

While we are aware of the lifting of the Covid-19 restrictions, we still need to act cautiously to prevent the spread of the virus.

Current Government guidance states that “Health and care settings will continue to maintain appropriate infection prevention and control processes as necessary“. This includes dental practices.

Therefore, for both staff and patient safety, we will be still be implementing the changes we have made since our return from lockdown.

We have made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

We will be implementing the following:

1. We will not be using our waiting rooms. We will be asking patients with scheduled appointments to wait outside the building when they arrive and when we are ready for them, a receptionist will telephone and advise you.

2. A receptionist will then greet you at the door where your temperature will be taken and you will be asked some screening questions. Providing all is well and your temperature is in the healthy range you will be asked to use hand sanitiser and then escorted straight into your treating dental surgery. This will avoid any risk of you passing other patients. Hand sanitiser and hand washing sinks are also available to use in other places throughout the practice for you to use as needed.

3. We request you use the toilet prior to leaving for your appointment, as the toilet on site will only be for emergency use.

4. Please minimise the belongings you bring to the appointment with you, or leave them in the car and avoid bringing them in the building.

5. We are requesting only the patient attends their appointment and no one accompanies the patient unless it is strictly necessary (i.e. an accompanying parent or accompanying carer).

6. Please bring your own face covering/ mask to wear or be prepared to wear one.

7. We no longer offer magazines to read, since these are difficult to clean and disinfect and could be a potential cross infection hazard.

8. Staff temperatures are also checked and recorded on arrival daily to ensure everyone is fit to work.

9. Our reception has had a protective glass screen installed to maximise patient and staff safety.

10. Payment should be made by card, we will no longer be able to accept cash or cheque.

11. Please bring your own pen for signing any forms.

12. We have all the appropriate and necessary PPE that we have been advised we require by the government, Chief Dental Officer and NHS. The FFP3 masks we are using are respirator masks and have been fit tested to make sure they meet the necessary standards. Please do not be alarmed by this, this is for your safety and the safety of staff.

13. We have had state of the art High “pressure” Plasma Air Purifiers installed in both our dental surgeries that use TPA ion technology to purify the air.

Information for General Dentistry Patients

We have all the appropriate PPE necessary to continue with most dental procedures, therefore we will slowly be able to return to almost full capacity. This may take more time than usual though, so please be patient and bear with us.

Information for Minor Oral Surgery Patients

We are one of the Minor Oral Surgery Urgent Dental Care Hubs. Therefore, we may need to prioritise those with emergencies. We have all the required PPE for Air Generating Procedure’s (AGP’s). If you have an urgent situation that cannot be delayed, please let us know either by calling or email.
